The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. ⁴ After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. ⁵ They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.” John 10:3-5.

We are called his own. If we are called his own, why we lose sight of him? Why do we stop hearing his voice? If we know his voice, why do we get lost? Why do we lose faith in him (the shepherd)? In the world today, we know that Christ died for us and paid the price for our salvation. He bought us with very expensive price (his blood) he died for us.

According to romans 8:29-30. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn^[n] among many brothers and sisters. ³⁰ And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. Romans 8:29-30 NLT editions

Therefore, the question is still unanswered why do we get lost and drift away. When also know from scripture that Jesus left the 99 sheep to go find the lost one. If that is the case then why there is so much depression in the world and anxiety among believes or chosen ones. Could it be that the people need deeper faith and deeper trust in the shepherd?
